We had so many ex pupils come through the Library today during their visit to our schools Centenary Open Day. One delightful lady started school in 1939 and was amazed and suprised how different the school was now, especially the classrooms. All the past students mentioned the old brick building that was once the school, the school bell and the fact there was no library. A small Library adjacent to the school was used by the school.
It was wonderful having the Lee family come and visit. Paul (1944), Daniel (1946, was here from Canada), Nancy (1948), Mark (1960's) and Matthew (1954) came in for a chat and walk a round. Their sister Elisabeth was in Dunedin and brother Michael passed away three years ago.
The Lee family were the only Chinese family at the school during their years here (1940's - 1960's) and they caught up with ex pupil and ex staff member Caroline Radcliffe while in the Library. They had a great chat about their school days.
Lew Lecomte also gave the Library a visit. Lew has an identical twin brother John and in their class of 1936 there were two other sets of twins. Lew was wonderful to talk with and was looking forward to the celebrations.
