This library was destroyed by fire and we have a temporary library in Room 10. These photos are a nice reminder of what we had.

Our magazines are extremely popular. Our selection includes: Pets, Kidz, Kids, Upstart, K-Zone, Wacky but true, Girl Power, Little Angel and Healthy Food.
TOPIC OF THE WEEK
Every week we introduce a topic and promote the relevant books. This display is promoting "Music" in line with Music Month May.
NEW BOOKS
Every Monday a selection of New Books are put on display. These books can be reserved and issued to students the following week
RESERVED BOOKS
This is where the reserved books are held waiting to be issued.
AUTHOR OF THE WEEK
We promote an author every week and display their books. This particular week Andy Griffiths was promoted and as you can see by the green 'reserve' labels, he is very popular with the students.
STAFF LIKES (now Library Picks)
Staff take turns at displaying books they recommend as " Great Read". Students find it interesting to see what teachers like and this often inspires them to branch out and read new and different books.
THE OLDER READER
This a partial view of our Blue Spot section. Here you will find great novels like Wimpy Kid, Bear Grylls, Redwall series by Brian Jacques, Harry Potter, books by authors: Roald Dahl, Michael Morpurgo, Margaret Mahy, Paul Jennings, Morris Gleitzman, Andy Griffiths and many many more exciting novels
WORK AREA
This area of our library houses two computers for student use. It is a great area for students to come and work and research.
NON FICTION
Here is a view of part of our Non Fiction section. This area includes two tables and chairs for students to sit, work and read. Information posters on the walls to assist in topic search,
This section is especially for our Students in years 7 and 8. Books in this area are varied and include easy to sophisticated reads and include Young Adult books. Young Adult books are generally suitable for age 12 +. You will find books by authours such as: Chris Ryan, Robert Muchamore (Cherub Series), John Marsden (Tomorrow Series), Cornelia Funke "Ink Heart Trilogy", H.I.V.E. series by Mark Walden, Anthony Horowitz, Fleur Beale, Deborah Ellis (Parvana series) and many more exciting novels.
THE RED SPOT SECTION.
Great novels for the younger reader, although in amongst these books are great titles that attract and interest the more sophisticated reader. This section of the library include books like: Zac Powers, Geronimo Stilton, Fly Guy, Naughty Little Sister series by Shirley Hughes, Mission Fox, Super Heroes, Battle Boy, Hey Jack and Billie B Brown by Sally Rippin and of course Boy vs Beast.
THE REFERENCE SECTION
We have a number of books in the reference section that students can get information from, read and enjoy. These books are not for issue and remain in the library. However we do have other copies of the very popular Ripleys and Guiness World Record books that are available for issuing.
MAORI MYTHS AND LEGENDS
There are some great reads in this section for all ages.
GAMES AND BIG BOOKS
A selection of games that are in the library and big books that students can use at lunch times.
OUR MULTIFUNCTIONAL READING AREA (The Reading Nook)
This area is great for relaxing and reading. It is equally spacious enough for playing with the library games at lunch time. It also houses a whiteboard, t.v. and video, so a great teaching environment for those small specialist groups. We even have our Itinerant Music Teachers teaching individuals and small groups in this reading area.
OUTSIDE
This area is great to sit and read, create art or relax on a nice day.
