Book Donations

Wednesday morning on the road

"What an exciting morning, today I spent the morning visiting 2 schools (Riccarton Primary and Ilam Primary) as well as St Christopher's Community Trust Dove Bookshop at Church Corner. These establishments had contacted me and offered free books for our library. I arrived back at school with some amazing books and had a lovely time in the process."

"I visited the delightful St Christopher's Community Trust Dove Bookshop at Church Corner and met Jan Jensen the Bookshop Manager and volunteer Gary Moore, who very kindly donated over 100 books for our library. Morris North the Bookshop CEO and Nick Atkins (who made the offer) were not on hand for the photo but we appreciate their wonderful and generous offer. This book shop is full of amazing books, I could have easily spent many hours there." Mrs Chin

"Look at all the books Ilam School had collected for our library. The lovely Librarian,  Margaret had selected some great reads. Thanks Margaret and students of Ilam School for your generous donation." Mrs Chin

"Riccarton Primary School also donated a large box of books, but Chris the librarian was called away so I never got to meet her. Thanks Riccarton Primary School for your wonderful donation." Mrs Chin

Library help

Who is hiding in the Office?

"Mrs Chin's husband, Roy, came in and helped with organising the Teacher Resources that were threatening to take over the library. He did such a grand job we got him to come back and do some more. Thanks Roy."

"These students were picking up playground rubbish and they came across this library book. A bit worse for wear and definitely not suitable for our library anymore, but it was a treasure found just the same." Mrs Chin

Donation from Australia

What a treat!
" We had a very unexpected but delightful donation today. Emily from Room 12 was given $240 from her Aunty in Perth, Australia, to purchase books for our library. Emily chose super books from Barrington Paper Plus and here she is with a massive amount of receipts showing her purchases. Barrington Paper Plus is giving 30% discount to everyone who purchases books for Beckenham School Library. Big big thanks Emily and family for your very generous donation. Can't wait for paper Plus to deliver the books." Mrs Chin
