Opening of school pool

Some of Beckenham School students gathered  to witness and partake in the opening of the new pool today at 11:30am. The concrete school pool was damaged during the earthquake of 2010.

Gemma was one of the lucky first to swim in the pool. She was rather cold when she hopped out and it is hard to smile when you are shivering. Gemma said it was fun and the water was warm.

 

Building number 2 arrives

"8:00am - the second classroom arrives on site Friday Morning, I wasn't up early enough to see it arrive on the truck at 7:30am but I am sure it must have been an impressive sight." Mrs Chin

New building arrived

"The swimming pool site now has a new purpose. Very early this morning (Thursday 11 July 2013) one of the two new classrooms arrived on site. It is a very exciting time." Mrs Chin

"The Mobile Coffee Cart on a Thursday morning is popular with parents, staff, visitors and workmen. A good morning to deliver a building to Beckenham School." Mrs Chin

Pool...Gone!

 The changing face of our school

"During the holidays things have changed. Our pool is being demolished to make way for new developments.  Mmm what do you think may go here? It has felt like a multitude of aftershocks have been occuring but Tony the caretaker assures me it is the machinery at the pool site. A lot of noise and movement." Mrs Chin
