Donations "freepost"

 Boxes and boxes

 The postman arrived with a huge cart, full of boxes and packets of books from throughout new Zealand and sent 'freepost' thanks to Ruth Dyson who arranged 'freepost' delivery with NZ Post.

Author Fleur Beale sent us a selection of her books.

Poem - Library Fire

 Room 19 student wrote this poem

The library Fire poem.

Once upon a time, in a school who liked to inspire,

Didn't know that they would soon be experiencing a fire.

On the 10th of Jan,that’s the date, you see!

Their poor school library was damaged quite badly.

The firefighters were called and rushed to the scene,

Fighting the fire so fierce and mean.

They managed to stop the blaze before it got to the hall,

But the library was the school’s major downfall.

They started anew, getting a new library in room 10,

And they couldn't stop thanking the brave firemen.

There was an amazing amount of donations,

Thanks to the suburb’s kind words and actions.

Scholastic Visit

Robyn, Sandy and Lynne

"Robyn and Lynne from Scholastic visited our library on Tuesday and were very impressed. When Lynne first came to our library we had approx 1,000 books on our selves, we now have 4,026. Many of the books have come from Scholastic and the remainder have been donated by parents purchasing through Barrington Paperplus, from Schools throughout New Zealand and community donations. We are incredibly fortunate and very blessed." Mrs Chin

Use EPIC for information

Epic is a venture between New Zealand libraries and the Ministry of Education, giving schools free access to a worldwide range of electronic resources. Epic can access databases containing thousands of international and New Zealand magazines, newspapers, biographies, substantial reference works, and images. Epic lets you access up-to-date full text articles covering a huge range of subjects.
